Those of you with headliner speakers?
So do you put the magnet directly to the roof? Or cardboard imbetween? Does it hurt the speakers in anyway? And how do you run the wire?

i dont think the magnet woul dbe danaged by putitgn it straight to the roof. run the wires down throught the roof to door pillars. either side or both sides.

Wont they fall off if you hit a bump hard enough?

Re: Those of you with headliner speakers?
Yea I worry the exact same things, but those magnets are extremely strong so I dont think they would fall.

Re: Those of you with headliner speakers?
I have 2 sony xplod 6 inch speakers in my headliner and there is a small gap between them and the roof. I plan on putting a thin piece of carpet padding on each side to get rid of the hollow sound. I ran the wires down the inside of the frames of the windshield. I.ve hit some decent bumps and no problems yet. Here is a picture of mine.

Re: Those of you with headliner speakers?
My speakers are farther apart than towtruckerfours and there's clips that hold it onto the headliner and the speakers hold them to the roof.

Re: Those of you with headliner speakers?
Same as what drytoast said. The speakers come with metal clips for the screws. It also came with a template for cutting the right size hole for the speaker. I think i went 6 inches back from the edge of the headliner and 7 inches each way from the center of it.

Re: Those of you with headliner speakers?
I wired the speakers first then moved them around the (inside) roof of the cab to see where the sound seemed best. With the magnet directly on the roof, the sound quality was weakened/echoed, so I put some thin foam insulation between the speakers and the roof, problem solved-sounds great now.

Re: Those of you with headliner speakers?
I think Ill try that, because I know if i put speakers in door it will be a bit weak, but if i also put 2 in the roof it should be great.

Re: Those of you with headliner speakers?
Here is the way I did my speakers. I built me a new headliner out of 1/4" plywood and also found part of a old headliner in the junk yard the type that has the stereo and speakers built in. And for the door I baught a a part off ebay with the speaker holder and drink holder built into it for $79. Here are a couple of pic's

Not bad, I bet it would look great with carpet instead of vinyl
