How about just sanding and clearing the original panels? That tach housing is steel (couple peices ofelectrical tubing). Sand the whole original door panel insert horizontaly, then powdercoat clear and use black arm rests? I like the idea that the panel will have some contours vs. looking like just a flat chunk of boring metal.
I wonder how the door storage compartment out of a slick would look in the bump?
I like the look of virgin steel better than aluminum and think that with that large of a panel that a dull or flat color would look better than a bright panel.
Thoughts?

I haven't seen the door storage compartments of a slick... I will have to look those up. I will have to mess around, some clear coated steel panels would look good too! I could offset, the dash in a similar way! I like that idea a lot!
