3 Spoke Steering wheel on a '71?

Will the '70 and older 3 spoke steering wheels fit on the 71-72 columns? I want to get a clean wheel and I like the older style.

the 71-72 columns had a raised area in the center to support the horn button. That can be ground off i think its like a 1/4 inch or maybe half. just until you reach the threaded part of the shaft. then a 70-earlier wheel will fit.

I have a 68 3 spoke wheel on a 74 column with th hazzard switch on it. It works great the only thing i had to do was cut the end of the shaft in order to put the horn button on.

Yeah I ended up getting a Mooneyes wheel. Can't wait to get home to see how it looks!

No doubt. I just went aftermarket because the repro wheels are out of my budget.
