Whistling sound is gone

Post by Kurt Combs »

I purchased a "NOS" knob for my driver's side vent window on Ebay and installed it this afternoon. Had to make a small punch out of hardened steel to remove the small pin, but other than that it was relatively simple to change. Took "Bruce" out for a drive and the whistling sound was gone at freeway speeds. Now I just need to redo the window channels and the fussy things stuck to the door and my ride should be quieter.

I still have too many rattles to worry about whistles!

Nice! That whistling can get pretty annoying.
Crawled under the "new" '71 yesterday with a box of wrenches, checked and torqued every nut and bolt. A couple weeks of driving since the new drivetrain install, there were some that needed attention.
No rattles!
I like quiet.
