FOLLOW UP TO REAR CHANGE

Post by David1947 »

I know I've been down this road before. Just want to clarify before I start in. Here's the project I'm taking the complete rear end leaving leafs. The donor truck is a 1973 F-250 the recipient truck is my 1969 F-250. My research tell me the 73 is 4 " wider that the 69 so I have to move the leaf perches in 2" on each side. Wondering if I also need to move the shock mounts. Maybe there is a link to someone who has done this. I don't want to just change the guts the 73 is a posi all set up don't want the hassle.
Also do you have to pull the axles on the 73 to remove the rear drums? One other thing will I need to alter my drive line. Sorry about the double post don't know what happened.THX David :help:

Yep, all the Dana full floaters require you pull the shafts to pull the drums.

Ford never offered a posi-trac, that's a Chevy option.
