My 71 F-250 2WD was hit last month by a drunk driver while parked. The driver rear is messed up pretty bad. The leaf spring setup is in need of replacement.
While I can get many of these parts new (bushings, springs), the "compensator" is one thing I can not find. This is the flex-o-matic rear springs with the extra parts on the rear of the spring.

Re: 2WD Rear Leaf Spring Suspension Parts
Springs can be found here http://www.generalspringkc.com/Leaf_Spr ... s/1863.htm I replaced my bushings with these http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ens-4 ... /make/ford As for the Flex-O-Matic bracket, nobody remans those, that I know of. However, quite a few members have lowered their trucks or swapped rear ends and may have some laying around. Start a thread in the Parts Wanted section and you might get a hit.

Re: 2WD Rear Leaf Spring Suspension Parts
Wasn't too bad. I don't have a press so everything was done by hand. Pics and a write up on what I did are in my project thread on page 2. Basically, drill out the rubber, knock out the center sleeve, chisel out out the spring eye sleeve. I tried the threaded rod/pipe/impact wrench trick but they wouldn't budge. Had to cut them out. Once I cut through the shell they came out fairly easily. The poly bushings don't require the metal outer sleeve so they go in easy.toddspeed wrote:Did those bushings press in/out pretty easily?
