I'm having issues with my horn, I recently bought a new steering wheel and horn ring.
The wheel fits perfect and looks great. The horn ring is a different cat, there is nothing under the
horn ring that has a metal surface to make contact with the brush assembly. I drop the brush assembly
in the hole and it seems to be way short for contact. I'm lost, any help would be appreciated.

Re: steering wheel horn
Can you post pics of what you have, showing the "innards" of the horn button, etc?

A longer spring on bush assembly may be needed.

Re: steering wheel horn
There are two of the springy horn contacts, and you should be able to find a schematic on this site showing the internal anatomy of the steering column that will help you to get it together properly. As far as I know, the spring contacts come in only one size for these trucks.

I found a longer spring for the brush assembly but there is no
metal on the retainer plate to make contact?

Re: steering wheel horn
Have you checked the schematic to see if you have all the parts?
Also, do you know that your column is the original?
A previous owner may have put one in from a newer model that may have some different parts.

Re: steering wheel horn
I have all the parts I purchased from LMC. I'm the 2nd owner and there
has been no alterations to the column.
