My A/C system is still not getting me cold in 100 degree weather....I spent almost $800 last yr. on new: compressor, condenser, freon and labor.....so this week I spent $140 on window tint and it helped a little but I'm still not cold.......I may put some sort of R board, or aluminum board , or material on between the motor /on the firewall...do you think that'd do anygood????? I felt the carpeted floorboard this afternoon and it was warm..
Is there a way I could get more freon in my system??? That radiator looking thing in front of my actual radiator....is that the evaporator or dryer or whatever....could I get a bigger one so that I could put more r134 in it??? would that make me colder???? I see frost when I look into my A/C vent on the "tubes" that are behind the vents but the cold air does not make it to my face
More freon does not equal lower temperatures in the cab. Over charge is just as bad as under charge in an AC system. As long as the system was designed for your truck, and the freon pressures are right, the system will not need more freon. Remember, An AC system doesn't introduce cold air into the cab, it only remove heat and dissipate it somewhere else. If the cab is not sealed up then you will always be introducing heat into the cab, thereby making the compressor work harder to bring down the temps. Does your exhaust dump under the cab? so you are also fighting exhaust temps higher than an oven. Without some type of heat shield that compressor will neverbring it down.. Try to seal up any holes like the clutch rod area, and the holes around the seat areas. The window tint was a good start and I think your idea for the fire wall will help also. Hope this helps.

The radiator looking thing is the condensor.
Do you have Freon (also known as R12) or R134a in your system? They are not the same.
If you have rebuilt your system and converted it to R134a, then a larger condensor will make a huge improvement in the systems ability to cool your truck.
What refrigerant are you running?

yea i would put something between the heat and the interior of the cab also getting the exhaust out from under the cab would help if thats where it ends at.
