Well, you can start your own upholstery business! Actually, that's what my dad does for a living. He's been doing this for probably 30 years. He's got two machines that look very similar, though not quite as big as yours. (Three phase??? Sheesh, that thing could almost sew up steel body panels!)

I think it might be just for overedging like the stitch on the edge of blankets. In which case I just paid $15 for a very cool gas pedal for the hotrod.
