I have a '71 F-250 4x4 that has the idiot light dash in it, I must assume the idiot lights make a HUGE difference in the wiring harness because I have 4 complete wiring harnesses from 70-72 trucks with gauges and they are completely different from this '71 harness. Lucky for me this truck hasn't run in a decade or better and has had some real keen past owners that cut alot of the wiring putting an engine in it.
I have what I believe to be most of the correct alternator wiring harness that plugs in by the starter relay and hooks into the regulator, but the wires that go to the alternator have been cut. I figure the fat wire must be the "batt" wire, but what are the other three? The other three wires are black/white, orange and black w/red stripe. Thanks for any help.

you can ford a river or stream and get to the other side, if you dodge it you will not, and if you drive a chevy to the levee it will run dry and the music will die.
