A/C question
Sorry guys I left my digital at home and didn't get the picture of the decal uploaded, will do that tomorrow. I found a silver oval decal on the hinge side door pillar of the truck. it says A/C by Clardy ft worth tx. The truck currently has no A/C, but the two holes the ac lines ran through on the 71 I striped are open on the 68. I am wondering if maybe the truck had dealer installed ac and was removed to put it on the new truck the original owner bought when he traded this one in. I wonder this since Linda's dad bought the truck from a ford dealer in 71 or 72. no brackets are on the engine and it's a 240, no signs of a condensor or dryer so not sure what's up here. Has anyone else seen a decal similar. I'll try to get the pic posted tomorrow when I get home.

re: A/C question
Clardy made aftermarket AC systems for a lot of different vehicles at the time. I had purchased several boxes of some old Ford and aftermarket hang-on style AC units about a year ago. A couple were NOS and I thought at least one of them would fit my truck. One of them was a used Clardy. Unfortunately none of them fit and then I lost my shirt on the shipping costs after I sold them on Ebay. Way underestimated the shipping costs and it costs me more to ship them than what I sold a couple of the larger units for...
I'll check at home and see if I still have any pictures to post.

If you do please do post them, I'd be curious to see them. I'll try my best to post the pic of the decal tomorrow when I get home from work.

re: A/C question
any suggestions on a compressor bracket that will fit the 240, one that would allow the use of a more modern type compressor. The truck actually has a single belt system on it, but the crank pulley is the standard 2 v with a 3rd seperate grove pulley bolted to the balancer.

re: A/C question
I have a 300 and pulled the a/c brackets of a mid 80's truck. I don't have a/c yet but have them for future use.

re: A/C question
I had thought about the 300 brackets, but wasn't sure they would bolt up to the older 240 block. But they seem they would be pretty easy to get ahold of. If it works this is the picture of the decal, little fuzzy, didn't realize it till after I loaded it on here.
