About a month ago I placed an online order through the npd site for a couple of '100' inserts and a cowl weatherstrip. Haven't heard anything since even with a follow up email.

Were you charged?
IIRC they won't hold a backorder over 30 days and just cancel the order and either refund your card or never charge it.
It is the only thing I don't care for with them...

Just looked at my latest cc invoice and it doesn't look like it. Guess I'll try elsewhere...

re: Problems with NPD?
I like NPD's prices, but their catalog isn't always correct about part numbers. I've only ordered from them twice and have had a problem on one part both times.
The first one was on a windshield washer pump. The catalog said it fit '69 & up, but the pump I received was the larger '70's pump, not the small 90-degree pump. So I had to send that back since they didn't offer the 90-degree pump. I even sent a photocopy from LMC's catalog showing that the pump they sent me would not work and that their catalog was wrong.
The second one was my rear sway bar. I ordered the one that the catalog said I needed for my '69 F100 2WD and after receiving it and checking Addco's part number on Summit's website, it turns out that it only fits '70 & up 4WD models. The one that I actually needed was further down the list and said '65 & up F250 2WD. If they wouldn't come up with those fancy part numbers and would just leave the suppliers' part numbers as part of the part numbers they assign (like Summit), then I would have known that the catalog was wrong before I ever ordered it. I would suggest caution when ordering straight from the catalog and if you have the actual supplier's part number, don't be afraid to run it by the salesperson to make sure that what they are going to send you is correct.
Other than that, the things I have gotten so far have been good and I will continue to order from them as long as their shipping charges and prices remain lower than the competition.

Yep I had the same problem with the same part...69timemachine wrote:The first one was on a windshield washer pump. The catalog said it fit '69 & up, but the pump I received was the larger '70's pump, not the small 90-degree pump.
Since the washer tank I got to install on the bus uses the same pump that they sent me, I decided to keep in it to use on the bus, so I'm not really out any money.
Everything else I have ordered from them seemed to be right on.

re: Problems with NPD?
Yeah, I'm not much on the whole online ordering thing. Online is great for looking up the parts and getting the numbers if you don't have a catalog in your hand, then calling in the order; but that's about it. Therefore, I always order over the phone too. Still, the salesperson didn't catch the misprint in the catalog either and tell me that the bar wasn't right for my truck. I mean, they had all the info on my truck in the system already.
I just wish they would put a little more effort into making sure their catalog is correct rather than putting so much effort into coming up with fancy part numbers that just end up causing problems.
