fuel hand problem

heys guys maybe someone can tell me why my gas gauge is going over as far as possible. even with a half a tank of gas. thought it might be the sending unit. but i replace it with a good one. and it still not reading right.thanks for any help you guys might give.

Past full usually means the wire is shorted to ground. You havent had the headliner out and back in lately have you? I have put a screw in that wire before. LOL

Couple of questions for you...
1. If you unhook the sensor wire from the tank does the gauge go to empty?
2. Do you have the full gauge cluster that has the oil, temp and amp gauge or does it just have the idot lights?
3. If it has all the gauges do they seem to be reading right or a little high as well?

If 1 and 3 are yes then it is your IPVR on the instrument panel needs adjusted or replaced.
