A/C question

Post by fonzf100s »

Hi all,
I recently aquired an underdash unit for my '69, it's the dealer installed that goes all of the way across the dash, four vents, like this one,

Anyways, can someone tell me where the holes go in the firewall for the hoses? I know they aren't the same as the factory air units that go thru the metal piece(both hoses). Any pics and measurements would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Fonzf100s

OK. Here's your pics. The two holes with the grommets are for the AC hoses. The head of the AC compressor will be a fairly straight shot from the holes.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Factory AC uses a different position for the hoses than dealer add-on systems do.

You're welcome, Fonz!
Steve, your AC hose exit at about the same spot on the firewall as mine will, close to the vertical reinforcement on the firewall.
As I said, factory AC units use a different exit location than dealer add on systems do.

Flyboy,
I am adding the dealer add on unit like yours, would there be a chance of pics of the dryer/condenser fittings? I have to get hoses for mine. Not sure of the size hoses, or if you have an idea I need to hear????? Thanks again for the pics!
