lighter

Post by 1970f100x »

My lighter outlet doesn't seem to work. The light comes on, but I can't get my lighter to work, or my cell charger. What are possible problems?

You might try a circuit tester (light) to see if power is coming into it. The center of it should be positive and the housing part the ground so make sure your test probe doesn't touch the side.

it could be a power problem or maybe its rusty on the center part and not making good contact with the element or charger button. check the fuse box for a bad fuse and work from there to test if you are getting power to the socket if no rust is on the inside of it. those sockets are generic. and not ford specific.

I've had a cell phone charger that just wouldn't make a good connection in mine. Try a test light to make sure you have power.
