windsheild wiper motor wiring

Post by thebannister8 »

i am going to be wiring a new windsheild wiper water tank..it came with a little motor that drives the pump to squirt the water...it has a positive and negative lead...i want to wire it into the stock switch...any tips... :help:

update...there are 3 wires in the wiper motor harness..red , black and red/white..i haven't tried yet, but is it reasonable to assume that the red/white would be the hot wire for the water tank ...or if on here is a wiring diagram that can be pointed out to me :help:

update...i found the wiring diagram on here and it's much different than my 67 f100

What's the new pump out of? The 67-72 all should have 2 wires, one for ground and one for power from the wiper switch... :hmm:

If it Looks good and Works good then it's ok by me. Everything has its issues from time to time...

 sorry I misread what you said in the first post...
I'm not sure what your truck's switch has there, as it should have 7 connections used for the wiper (5)/(4 to the motor+1 power) and washer (2)... Do your wipers have 2 speeds or just 1?
Did your truck have”power" washer/squirters on it originally? Some of the early 67's and 67's in general have some differences from the other years... (early ones have some carry over from the slicks wiring)
If it had a power washer before you should be able to wire the new one into the old wire harness out on the fender, Red should be the power and Black should be the ground on the new pump.

Here is the 67 washer diagram http://www.fordification.com/images/sch ... wipers.jpg
Here is the 69 wahser diagram http://www.fordification.com/images/sch ... washer.jpg
