Window Crank Handles

Post by TexasTruck72 »

I went to my local junkyard today and bought a set of 67-72 Ford window crank handles for my 72 bump. The chrome is near perfect and so are the rubber knobs, its just that the knobs are really loose on the handles. Is there a way to tighten them down or remove the knobs? Or how are they attached?

Any responses would be much appreciated.

on the back of the handle "the unfinished not so shiny side" there is a screw threaded into the knob, loosen the screw and it should come out. if the bolt is alredy tight i dont know of a way to tighten it up, mostly because of the way its made its gets loose because of being worn down on the back of the knob.

Thank you shaggys_bump. I thought it might be a screw thread but just wanted to ask.

actually i think that is a rivet. only the replacements used a screw to hold the knob on with.
