gauge cluster

Post by red403 »

I was planning on installing a f600 cluster in my 67, until I talked to Dan and had a look at his dakota digital cluster. Now I have changed my mind as I am not going for factory with my truck. I didn't want to have the chrome on the bezel so I found one that the sun and weather had taken the chrome off then I used a old trick from my plastic model days. I got some super clean and removed the rest of the paint. Super clean will not eat the plastic but it will remove the paint from it. I should have it ready to prime tomorrow with any luck then paint when I paint the truck cab. Super clean also worked to remove the paint on the heater vent covers from the dash pad.

He ownes a bump he must be a good guy. I have primed the dash bezel black and it is ready for paint, the grills are ready for paint and the tilt column is ready for paint now. I took a auto tilt column out of a 79 removed the gear shift and indicator and filled the holes. Now I just need to get the rest of the truck done.
