Low or High Hump?

Post by In FORD we trust »

Hey Guys, I'm getting ready to order my carpet for my 68 F250. Thanks to all your help we know that my truck was a 2 wheel drive that has been put on a 4X4 frame. Now when I called Stock Interiors to order my carpet, They ask me if it was a low or high hump? I'm really not sure. My truck is auto on the column and the hump has a hole cut in it (Not Factory) for the transfer case shifter. Here's a picture of the hump, and has anyone ordered from Stock Interiors and is this a high or low hump? Thanks, Tim

thats a high hump. it's a removeable cover that's used with the 4spd and C-6 automatics.

Thanks Guys! I will order my carpet on Monday. Any input on Stock interiors? I got their name from an upholstery shop. He and they (Stock Interiors) say that they make your carpet custom every time and that there is 2 to 4 inches of extra carpet all the way around that the installer trims to fit. I was concerned about coverage under the dash at the bottom of my firewall insulation. They also have about 4 different grades of carpet you can order. It takes about three weeks to have it made and then they ship it from Mississippi i think. I will let you all know how it all goes with pictures and all. Thanks Again!!! Fordification and all you guys ROCK!!!!! Tim : :fr:

i know the carpet should be trimmed out on the edges so it doesn't try to unravel. do they do that? or do they sent it for you to cut off any extra? the carpet should go up under the firewall cover al ittle. i don't have a idea on how much but i dont think its a whole lot. may 1-2 inches. it could be more. but i wouldnt want less.

O.K. I got my carpet yesterday (in about a week) and installed it last night. Love the style and the quality. It was bound on all sides except under the dash and i had to cut off about 2 to 3 inches. It really fits nice. It is a little long on the back side under the gas tank, it turns up the back of the cab a couple inches, i think i will leave it. The tank will hid it anyway. The only thing i don't like and its a big one for me is at the kick panel on the drivers side, the carpet was not wide enough. It was about 3/8 of an inch away. I placed a call in to them but have not heard anything back yet. I took a piece of my trimmed off carpet and placed it under and against the kick panel to hide the shiny dynomat foil. http://www.stockinteriors.com I will post pictures of my final product later.

Here is the finish job. I'm pretty happy with it. I pulled off my Transfer case shifter lever and connecting rod and had them powder coated. Bad thing is I went to put my seat back in and a cat must have peed on it :x We have a little pet door in my back garage door and a cat must have come in. Now i have to redo my seat before i can put it back in.
