Hey Darrman. Just last week had a Classic Auto Air Perfect Fit installed in my 72. The install went pretty easy, according to my mechanic, and the system looks/works great. Very pleased with the appearance and love the fact that it operates off my original in dash controls. Yes, there is a small vent on the driver side - same as the one on the passenger side and then two vents in the center. Hope your install goes good for you.Darrman wrote:After suffering miserably or not driving it at all last summer, the first year the truck was up and running, I bought a air conditioner today. I went with Classic auto air's Perfect fit system, and I will be updating as the install goes, as I could not find much info on this unit. FYI, there supposedly is a drivers side dash vent that for some reason is not showed on the website. This is according to the tech guy, and this will bring the louver count to 4.
Hopefully I will get it early next week and start that weekend.

Unit itself, in my case, was about $1300 - installation in my area was about $1100. You can contact Classic Auto Air and they may be able to give you a price for both over the phone. If you live near them, it would be ideal.Forsche wrote:Mind if I ask what this system costs for parts and installation?
Was the $900 price about what it cost you. It has been over a year since I talked with Nostalgic Air and that was the price they gave me. Also does it come with everything you need for install? Thanks for any info.wobblefoot wrote:I have the Nostalgic Air and its real nice Im getting ready to have mine installed
here's how mine turned out - there is also a vent on the drivers side same as on the passenger side (4 vents total)thorn1968 wrote:got any pics of that finished system?
That looks nice, Ive got the factory setup for mine and really dont like the way it sticks out on the passenger side. Thats a sweet looking setup that they've made for our trucks.Phil105 wrote:here's how mine turned out - there is also a vent on the drivers side same as on the passenger side (4 vents total)thorn1968 wrote:got any pics of that finished system?
Yep, I hunted far and wide to find the AM/FM stereo. It does work, but not "well" - fades off stations, difficult to tune to a station, etc. I put a pioneer stereo/cd in the glove box with an infrared repeater setup so I can operate it with a remote and not open the glove box. But I do like the look of the factory radio.Joe Kriston wrote:Wow!...Looks like a factory stereo in that Ranger...Does it work well?...
How noisy are those a/c unit fans?...My old aftermarket one is very noisy and doesn't circulate the cold air very well...
