OK, so the guy who redid my bump apparently didn't put a seal back around the rod that goes from the brake pedal arm to the master cylinder. It allows a wicked amount of air through at highway speeds, to the point where the heater is just about ineffective in the winter. I've looked at DC and LMC and can't find a grommet for it, does anyone have any other ideas of where to look or something that you've bodged together before.
Thanks

Re: Brake pushrod seal at the firewall
Good afternoon Rugby1725,
On my truck there were two seals in that general area. One's stuck to the firewall and one generally comes with new rebuilt brake boosters.
The one stuck to the firewall's shown in this thread: Is anybody aware of a vendor for this plastic brake tube?
And the one that normally comes with boosters is shown here: IMG_8221s.JPG.
Rugby1725, I'm not sure if it's possible to tell without taking your booster off, but do you know which of the seals you're looking for?

Re: Brake pushrod seal at the firewall
I'll have to look, I'll I've done so far is use my hand under the dash to trace it back to the firewall. It feels like the hole for the pushrod is bare metal, which is the reason I figured there was a grommet missing. I'll check on the engine compartment side and see if I can get a pic.
Thanks
Kris

Re: Brake pushrod seal at the firewall
Here is a thread regarding this subject. I didn't read it all again but as I recall Mike came up with a solution.

Re: Brake pushrod seal at the firewall
A easy fix for it would be to use some pipe insulation and install it on the rod under the dash where it goes through the firewall. The insulation comes split with release paper to glue together. Wouldnt be the right way to fix it but would stop the air from coming in till you do.
