Ha! The darn spring alone took me that long! Anyhow, it's a big improvement. Nice smooth pedal motion with little flexing. My rod is worn (double entendre) so there's still some flex. One suggestion for those that do this fix: Install the spring as the attached photo shows. Mine was in the other way but I found it impossible to remount it. If you configure it like this, it's not bad.shouldn't take you more than about 20-30 minutes.
Some may remember, I had the problem of the brake lights going on when I pushed in the clutch. This made for interesting reactions by tailgaters when I hit third gear. Anyhow, this fixed that problem.
