1968 F250 Project
After owning my truck for about 5 years, I am finally starting to get progress done on it. (I was only around 10 years old when I got it) It was my Great Grandfather's truck, so I'm the second owner. It has seen many Wisconsin winters as a farm truck, so saying that it is rusty is an understatement. As you can imagine, there is an abundance of farmer's fixes throughout the truck. (some of them are very creative to say the least) I hope to have it drive able for when I get my licence. Prior to now, the engine has been pulled, due to problems with the flywheel, and the front clip has been removed for work on cab mounts. I hope to get a lot more work done through the rest of summer.

That should turn out very nicely!
It's good to see that some of the younger generation still appreciate these old trucks, and not just the 'fart can' ricers trying to sound tough!

I have some pictures of all the work done prior to now that I thought I would show. In the last picture the grille and bumper were painted. I had an idea, and decided to try it. It looks better than the white grille anyway. I will post the current progress in a little while.

I have always had a passion for classic cars since I grew up around them, and now I'm working on them. I'd take this truck any day over any modern truck! The old Ford was originally going to be hauled off to the scrap yard. It would have been a shame if that happened.flyboy2610 wrote:That should turn out very nicely!

Earlier today my dad and I started working on the cab mounts, if you can even call them cab mounts anymore. We made up a pattern for the pass. side, and also started working on patterns for the kick board and the parts of the floor pans that need replacing. There is going to be a lot of fabricating and welding, but it its worth it.

Wow!! I have never seen cab mounts that rotten. Kudos to you for taking on the challenge!

These are the best cab mounts you can get. Kinda pricey, but they are the original style, not the cheap stamped ones from China.

The floor pans are definitely in need of repair...
Driver's side
To keep costs down, we are going to fabricate the cab mounts and floor pan patches our self . It will take some time, but it will be worth it.

This is a depressing picture...
Way to damp to work on anything right now. Rain for the next few days also, so the truck sits until nicer weather comes.
(the truck is up on blocks.. that is why it sits so weird..)

Plans are for a stout 400, C6, 3.54 gears, 33" BFG AT's, bucket seats and custom console. Final assembly, nearing start up...

For some reason there was no rain today, and the sun actually came out! With that comes some updates on the truck.
The pattern for the pass. side toe board was already made a few days ago, so it was cut out and formed today. It is made out of a car roof from a 1953 Dodge. It was fairly easy to fabricate.
Here is the toe board fitted in place, ready to be welded
Also made the lower floor pan patch pattern, cut it out from the sheet metal, and now it is also ready to be welded
The fire wall by the heater core needed work also...

Also finished the pattern for the cab mount. Everything will be sealed completely, so no water can get in. It is also going to be attached right to the rocker panel to add strength. It should be built better than factory.
That's all for now

Keep up the good work. Nice cabs are hard to find around here as well but I don't think I've ever seen one in as rough a shape as yours.
