Doorpanel trim

Hi guys,

In order to replace the locks on my 1970 F250, I needed to remove the aluminium trim which is covering the screws for the metal door insert. Removing it went smoothly, but how do I replace it ? There must be an easy answer I guess.....

The picture shows it still attached to the door, it's the trim with the black center.

on the trim piece there should be spring loaded "clips" usually with two ends crossing each other. you stick these two ends into the trim hole and give it a good puch, they should just pop in.

yeah those clips should come out of the door panel and pop into the backside of the trim track then pop back into their respective holes when the door panel is replaced back onto the door.

Sorry to hi-jack your thread but are these trim clips reproduced or is there an acceptable replacement? I bought the trim on ebay but it only had a few clips attached.

thats a good question, I usually hoard good used ones from the junkyard. I would check with DORMAN, they make alot of automotive type fasteners. I would even pay a visit to a body shop and ask them if you really get hard up.
