Cab Mount Concerns

So, I bought these cab mounts several years ago for my project. At the time, and still am, on a tight budget; so I settled for the one piece stamped design. Hind sight is always 20/20. Now I'm reading Facebook posts about how these are garbage. Am I totally screwed here? Thanks.

I don’t have any experience with new mounts but assuming that’s a photo of yours already installed I sure wouldn’t worry about it at this point. Looks like you did a fine job. There may well be better quality and sturdier mounts on the market but once you have something in place I wouldn’t be concerned. From what I’ve seen they don’t really carry all that much weight, and plenty of folks are driving around with the originals half rusted away until they get around to installing new ones...
Was there some specific issue you were hearing is a problem other than quality compared to others?

If they still holding up as good as the day you installed them, you should not worry about. I had to replace mine also and decided to go with Dennis Carpenter just because of better fitment and ease of installing. I'm sure what you have is just as strong but may have been a little more aggravating to install. Looks like you did a good job of it.

Thanks. I can’t take the credit. A friend of mine installed. I saw a picture of some cracked. Mostly the “garbage” comment. I agree though, shouldn’t worry at this point.

Thanks. I appreciate it. A friend put them in some years back. I’m not going to worry about it. It’s good to get some positive feedback on these projects though. I can second guess myself a lot if I’m not careful.

Take FB post with a "Grain of Salt" as most are full of chit. Now that you have yours's mounted... spray some oil inside them

Nothing is set in stone. You could always reinforce them if you wanted to,.. down the line.

If you're concerned about the strength, reinforce them from the outside, and call it good.

Personally, I wouldn't sweat that issue one little bit. It's not like I'm pounding my '67 F-250 as a work truck on forest roads and jeep trails.
